Viersen FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Rump was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthias Dunz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Apicella having to interfere. Enak Zeh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Ferdinand Ammermann notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Oberndorf's Claudio Apicella. Claudio Apicella was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Oberndorf's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
