The nice shot from Kai Venekamp in the 21stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Frederik Saur had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Frederik Saur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Stammler in the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Gerd-Peter Barges notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Weberhäusl's Frederik Saur. Frederik Saur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Martin Malzkows managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altonaer Löwen's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Malzkows was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frederik Saur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Kai Venekamp could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Frederik Saur however easily saved by the left post. Raphael Moors blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandor Schöpper having to make a save. Frederik Saur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerd-Peter Barges, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerd-Peter Barges to strike the kick off in the second half.
