Bruce Pfister was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 6 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the KFC Uerdingen defense, Paul Lütkebohmert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis. The KFC Uerdingen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Tuttendorf's Karol Baumbach got control of the ball when Karl Gabler tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match KFC Uerdingen got a corner. Tuttendorf's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karl Gabler ran over to the corner to take the kick. KFC Uerdingen's Karl Gabler was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Karol Baumbach in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Heiko Schiersand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KFC Uerdingen's Raik Welskop got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tuttendorf's zone, Nicolas Lameck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karol Baumbach came out of the goal and Nicolas Lameck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl Gabler kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Freddi Bode notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of KFC Uerdingen's Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis. Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Karl Gabler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Karol Baumbach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gavin Päzel in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis saved KFC Uerdingen from getting behind. Heiko Schiersand made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 61stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Karol Baumbach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl Gabler in the 62nd minute of the match. The supporters of Tuttendorf booed when KFC Uerdingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Lameck didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, KFC Uerdingen's Nicolas Lameck got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Heiko Schiersand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tuttendorf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heiko Schiersand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute, Eros Guttenberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eros Guttenberg in the 82nd minute of play forced Tuttendorf's goalkeeper Karol Baumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Werner Frei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tuttendorf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Uerdingen the free kick. Werner Frei kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nikolaus Zapf during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Nikolaus Zapf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavin Päzel in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Heiko Schiersand reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis. The goal made the score 1-3. The Tuttendorf players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
