One of Tunzenhausen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Altonaer Löwen:s goal. 1-2 came through a penalty shot after 33 played minutes, when Altonaer Löwen:s Karl Stieglitz calmly waited for Tunzenhausen:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. After 38 played minutes Tunzenhausen got a freekick which was hit by Alf Schmidhuber. Karl Stieglitz, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Tunzenhausen getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Thilo Jacobs hit a great ball. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Jakobus Neffin made the kick off in the second half. Ansgar Sell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerd-Peter Barges in the 60th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Ronald Stammler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Altonaer Löwen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tunzenhausen the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerd-Peter Barges in the 74th minute of play forced Tunzenhausen's goalkeeper Ansgar Sell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kai Venekamp might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ansgar Sell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kai Venekamp ran back to his position shaking his head. If Knut Henke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Knut Henke got free with Sandor Schöpper in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 95 minutes, Knut Henke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tunzenhausen and the Altonaer Löwen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
