The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Oberndorf's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Weber came free, but Claudio Apicella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Stolle was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Yao Rong Zhen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yao Rong Zhen really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Otto Gehlhaar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Claudio Apicella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Wander Wald Soccer's goal looked a bit too open when Yao Rong Zhen came free, but Edgar Stolle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Jula in the 15th minute of play forced Wander Wald Soccer's goalkeeper Edgar Stolle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oberndorf's goalkeeper Claudio Apicella, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Jürgen Abegg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 21 minutes of play, Wander Wald Soccer's Edgar Weber made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudio Apicella was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wander Wald Soccer's Edgar Stolle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Wander Wald Soccer from getting a goal against them. Otto Gehlhaar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Claudio Apicella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jürgen Abegg in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Apicella saved Oberndorf from getting behind. Edgar Weber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Apicella having to interfere. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oberndorf's goalkeeper Claudio Apicella, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Oberndorf's Bill Jagnow got a free kick in the 38th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jürgen Abegg during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Wander Wald Soccer got a freekick which was hit by Jürgen Abegg. 45 minutes into the game, one of Wander Wald Soccer:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Oberndorf. Ion Jula stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edgar Stolle. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 54th match minute, Oberndorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dick Lodgman von Auen to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, Wander Wald Soccer's Edgar Weber sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudio Apicella narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edgar Weber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Apicella having to interfere. Otto Gehlhaar in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Claudio Apicella, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Claudio Apicella made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jürgen Abegg in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jürgen Abegg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wander Wald Soccer's supporters rose to their feet, but Jürgen Abegg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio Apicella breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgar Stolle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ion Jula's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Jürgen Abegg was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jürgen Abegg kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wander Wald Soccer's Olaf Mühlhäußer got a free kick in the 70th minute. Bill Jagnow took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edgar Stolle. Wander Wald Soccer's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72nd minute of the match, Olaf Mühlhäußer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Claudio Apicella saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Edgar Weber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Claudio Apicella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Olaf Mühlhäußer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Edgar Weber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgar Stolle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yao Rong Zhen in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Jula in the 82nd minute of play forced Wander Wald Soccer's goalkeeper Edgar Stolle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Weber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Apicella having to interfere. Wander Wald Soccer's Otto Gehlhaar got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgar Weber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Claudio Apicella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The throw-in from Bill Jagnow in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Wander Wald Soccer's Edgar Weber. When Edgar Weber came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Wander Wald Soccer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Weber couldn't finish the play. Edgar Stolle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yao Rong Zhen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Otto Gehlhaar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Apicella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Many of Wander Wald Soccer's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Wander Wald Soccer may have spent more time on the ball, but Oberndorf were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
