But to his dismay, Wendelin Habel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Wendelin Habel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the game, Günter Wright was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bornheim FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flensburger FC the free kick. A collision led to Bornheim FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Günter Wright hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Wendelin Habel sped through Flensburger FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eduard Hebel. In the 24th match minute, Bornheim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Heiler to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Bornheim FC defense, Frithjof Stockhausen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Uhl. The Bornheim FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Uhl should have stopped the shot. 35 minutes into the game, Gregor Gellekum was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bornheim FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flensburger FC the free kick. Gregor Gellekum hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Bornheim FC's Günter Wright got a free kick in the 44th minute. The Flensburger FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bornheim FC were winning 1-3.

A collision led to Bornheim FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Addi Geiß hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Gregor Gellekum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bornheim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregor Gellekum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduard Hebel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Gregor Gellekum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregor Gellekum came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eduard Hebel could save by the left post. Wendelin Habel kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If Dittmar Lehmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Tauer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Hebel having to interfere. Gregor Gellekum struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Eduard Hebel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bornheim FC. The Bornheim FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bornheim FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
