The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emilio Kaufhold kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 10th match minute, Real Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lasse Schönberger to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Charles Voland dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bolo Anfahrt, 2-0. In the 19th minute, Charles Voland fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bolo Anfahrt, passed just outside the right post. Lasse Schönberger hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Livio Göger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertram Becher in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Emilio Kaufhold hit a great ball. If Oleg Felchle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lasse Schönberger kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charles Voland was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Ray Peuckert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Bolo Anfahrt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 61 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's Hagen Wiedmann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Livio Göger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Robin Gürtler hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Bolo Anfahrt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Zimmermann in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Voland in the 68th minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper Bolo Anfahrt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bolo Anfahrt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Zimmermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Voland came free, but Bolo Anfahrt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Peuckert in the 79th minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper Bolo Anfahrt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Real Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Berthold Marcian. After recieving a nice pass, Rodenhof FSV's Bernhard Steinki tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Rodenhof FSV's Börje Gerlinger got a free kick in the 87th minute. Hagen Wiedmann's late challenge caught a Rodenhof FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hagen Wiedmann helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Hagen Wiedmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mark Zimmermann came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Rodenhof FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Zimmermann couldn't finish the play.
