After having played for 4 minutes, Palle Krahforst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Großgöhren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Palle Krahforst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Großgöhren booed when FC Leutpolz 05 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens Schaar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Thies Knoll fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Großgöhren's protests and gave Thies Knoll a yellow card for diving instead. Philo Lingemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Täve Bachert having to interfere. Philo Lingemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Utz Weinforth in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Täve Bachert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Hemmo Rossmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hemmo Rossmann in the 38th minute of play forced Großgöhren's goalkeeper Olaf Kreuz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thies Knoll hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Täve Bachert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philo Lingemann in the 44th minute of the match. Olaf Kreuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hemmo Rossmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hemmo Rossmann made the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Utz Weinforth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Täve Bachert was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Utz Weinforth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Täve Bachert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philo Lingemann in the 66th minute of play forced FC Leutpolz 05's goalkeeper Täve Bachert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Philo Lingemann took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Täve Bachert to make any attempt to save it. Großgöhren's Philo Lingemann got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Täve Bachert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philo Lingemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. When Philo Lingemann came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Großgöhren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philo Lingemann couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute, Utz Weinforth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Täve Bachert was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Philo Lingemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Leutpolz 05's Täve Bachert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Leutpolz 05 from getting a goal against them. After 95 played minutes FC Leutpolz 05 got a freekick which was hit by Henning Bultmann. Großgöhren's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
