The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee felt a red card was in order, 12 minutes into the game, when Wit Olender put in a rough tackle. In the 35th match minute, KFC Hansa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulf Bernhauer to maneuver through the defense. KFC Hansa's Ole Per Köppen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friedemann Burkert in the 39th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Murathan Kutcan to strike the kick off in the second half. Ole Per Köppen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caspar Cabada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Joost Schlüter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthew Hildebrand was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 63rd minute Murathan Kutcan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Hildebrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulf Bernhauer during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to KFC Hansa getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ulf Bernhauer hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, KFC Hansa's Cicero Neubrandt got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 82 played minutes KFC Hansa got a freekick which was hit by Murathan Kutcan. Murathan Kutcan kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. KFC Hansa's Ole Per Köppen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save KFC Hansa from getting a goal against them. Many of FC Donautal's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. FC Donautal may have spent more time on the ball, but KFC Hansa were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
