The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Großbraunshain FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Olayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ingo Stromann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Velandia in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Joachim Velandia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, SC Weser Kickers's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim Velandia came free, but Ingo Stromann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Großbraunshain FC's Damazy Bartelak got a free kick in the 17th minute. Großbraunshain FC's Arthur Bouillaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Strobl in the 18th minute of play. Großbraunshain FC's Francisco Olayo got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd match minute, Großbraunshain FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horst Sann to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Olayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Ingo Stromann made a huge save. Ingo Stromann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attila Zsinka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Francisco Olayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Weser Kickers's Pim Kader got a free kick in the 30th minute. Ingo Stromann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Attila Zsinka, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Ingo Stromann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joachim Velandia's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Francisco Olayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ingo Stromann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, SC Weser Kickers's goal looked a bit too open when Attila Zsinka came free, but Ingo Stromann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Dolf Huber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Bernd Uplegger made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Ingo Alspach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Weser Kickers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingo Alspach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Attila Zsinka might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ingo Stromann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Attila Zsinka ran back to his position shaking his head. Pim Kader kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. When Francisco Olayo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Großbraunshain FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Olayo couldn't finish the play. Joachim Velandia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ingo Stromann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Attila Zsinka's late challenge caught a SC Weser Kickers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Attila Zsinka helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute of the match Arnd Nitsch sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ingo Stromann skillfully saved the ball. Arnd Nitsch's late challenge caught a SC Weser Kickers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnd Nitsch helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Großbraunshain FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Arnd Nitsch hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Attila Zsinka sped through SC Weser Kickers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ingo Stromann. 93 minutes into the match, SC Weser Kickers's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Raiola came free, but Ingo Stromann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Großbraunshain FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
