The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ratekau's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 11th minute Rudolf Maletz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, George Suminskis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Max Åström. Ratekau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that George Suminskis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 17th minute George Suminskis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Suminskis in the 19th minute of play forced Ratekau's goalkeeper Max Åström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Max Åström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hannes Rehbach in the 29th minute of play. Erik Haaland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Yonko Stoichkov made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Haaland got free with Yonko Stoichkov in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Max Åström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hannes Rehbach in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ratekau's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. If Boruc Makowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With 44 minutes on the clock, Reinhart Goll commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Reinhart Goll kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hannes Rehbach was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Severiano Calisto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Max Åström. That made the score 1-2 in the 53 minute of play. Hannes Rehbach who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Max Åström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ratekau's Max Åström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Suminskis in the 57th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Ratekau's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Rehbach came free, but Max Åström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ratekau's Max Åström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Ratekau from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hannes Rehbach got free with Max Åström in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Ratekau's Max Åström got control of the ball when George Suminskis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Severiano Calisto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Ratekau's goalkeeper Max Åström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severiano Calisto. The supporters of Leidenschaft booed when Ratekau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harro Hülsmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Max Åström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunther Rothstein in the 92nd minute of play. The Ratekau fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Leidenschaft were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
