Hugo Haupt's late challenge caught a Ratekau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Haupt helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Hugo Haupt got a free kick in the 41st minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Erling Askstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ratekau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erling Askstedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. August Hoffmanns was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Erik Haaland showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 47 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
The wind increased when Boruc Makowski made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Boruc Makowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anestis Kotsopoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Max Åström made a huge save. Erik Haaland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauritz Gröbner in the 63rd minute of play. Leif-Eric Albrecht kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. If Leif-Eric Albrecht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marco-Antonio van Basten fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rot-Weiss-Essen's protests and gave Marco-Antonio van Basten a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Marco-Antonio van Basten. August Hoffmanns came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ratekau's Boruc Makowski. But to his dismay, Boruc Makowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Mesut Özil kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ratekau! Maximilian Henning walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 89 minutes, Erling Askstedt made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 93 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Askstedt came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Max Åström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Haupt, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After 96 minutes, Maximilian Henning mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rot-Weiss-Essen and the Ratekau players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maximilian Henning hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Max Åström. That made the score 5-1 after 99 minutes of play. Ratekau were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Rot-Weiss-Essen for a fine match.
