After some careless play in the FC Selb defense, Carl Tempel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Issa Casillas. The FC Selb fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Issa Casillas should have stopped the shot. If Wim Hägele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute Udo Renger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Issa Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Gencalp Kani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Issa Casillas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Harald Brachvogel's late challenge caught a SV PM Cottbus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harald Brachvogel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, FC Selb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harald Brachvogel to maneuver through the defense. After 18 minutes of play, SV PM Cottbus's Carl Tempel made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Issa Casillas was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Selb's Issa Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Niva in the 21st minute of play. Marcus Mandel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Issa Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gencalp Kani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th match minute, FC Selb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jafar Glaubach to maneuver through the defense. After 30 played minutes, SV PM Cottbus's Erik Niva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Issa Casillas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV PM Cottbus reached it. In the game's 30th minute SV PM Cottbus's Erik Niva took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Issa Casillas and thus the score was 0-4. Ivan Breitmacher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Issa Casillas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Wim Hägele notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of SV PM Cottbus's Julius Tenbruck. Julius Tenbruck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Issa Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Tempel in the 42nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Niva in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Issa Casillas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SV PM Cottbus's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Erik Niva in the 49th minute. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wim Hägele to make the kick off. Udo Renger took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Issa Casillas. Issa Casillas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. The throw-in from Ioannis Reinke in the 61st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Selb's Aurel Dobre. Carlos Uijtterhoven kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 67th minute Erik Niva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Issa Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th match minute, SV PM Cottbus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ansgar Kleim to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Selb getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Wim Hägele hit a great ball. FC Selb's Issa Casillas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save FC Selb from getting a goal against them. Julius Tenbruck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Hägele in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Carl Tempel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Issa Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Issa Casillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Niva, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 85 played minutes FC Selb got a freekick which was hit by Wim Hägele. If Udo Renger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Issa Casillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Niva in the 88th minute of play. Erik Niva struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Issa Casillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV PM Cottbus. Julius Tenbruck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Hägele in the 96th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Selb's Issa Casillas got control of the ball when Gencalp Kani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Issa Casillas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ansgar Kleim in the 99th minute. The FC Selb supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SV PM Cottbus's performance. The match ended with a win for SV PM Cottbus.
