Wim Hägele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Hessen Fusball's Uwe Senekowitsch got a free kick in the 5th minute. Paul Kremers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulf Riessle went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hessen Fusball's goalkeeper Paul Kremers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to FC Selb getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Wim Hägele hit a great ball. Paul Kremers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Hägele, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, FC Selb's goalkeeper Issa Casillas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruud Enders. A collision led to Hessen Fusball getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Marcel Beutin hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Marcus Mandel managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Selb's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Mandel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Kremers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ruud Enders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Issa Casillas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Wim Hägele notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Hessen Fusball's Paul Kremers. Paul Kremers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 31 minutes into the game, when Claudius Numberger put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 32 minutes, Hessen Fusball's Ruud Enders got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Issa Casillas. In the 34th match minute, Hessen Fusball was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uwe Senekowitsch to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Wolfgang Weibe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hessen Fusball's Siegfried Krögers in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Selb's goalie prevented a goal. In the 43rd minute Wim Hägele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Kremers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Wim Hägele came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the FC Selb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Hägele couldn't finish the play. After the first half FC Selb were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wim Hägele to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Hägele in the 51st minute of play forced Hessen Fusball's goalkeeper Paul Kremers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aurel Dobre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A very good chance for a goal. 62 minutes into the match, Hessen Fusball's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Hägele came free, but Paul Kremers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led FC Selb's Harald Brachvogel to fire away a dangerous shot which Paul Kremers despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wim Hägele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Kremers having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harald Brachvogel in the 70th minute of play forced Hessen Fusball's goalkeeper Paul Kremers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Harald Brachvogel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paul Kremers, 1-5. Siegfried Krögers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcus Mandel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Kremers having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Wim Hägele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, FC Selb's Paul Kremers threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Hägele, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience was convinced that Siegfried Krögers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Issa Casillas was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Harald Brachvogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Paul Kremers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wim Hägele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match was over FC Selb could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hessen Fusball throughout the match.
