In the 16thth minute of the game Anton Ackermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Hinterfindmichnicht's Guido Schamberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pieter Schubert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Ebbenga having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Finn Kreuels left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BSC Jena 98 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Jens Ebbenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Maul in the 27th minute of play. Jens Ebbenga made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Pieter Schubert sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute Caspar Zander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens Ebbenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, BSC Jena 98's Jens Ebbenga got control of the ball when Peter Olbers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pieter Schubert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jens Ebbenga made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caspar Zander was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 61 minutes, Finn Kreuels managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BSC Jena 98's supporters crossed their fingers, but Finn Kreuels was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guido Schamberg made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Finn Kreuels sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to BSC Jena 98 getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Fabian Beushausen hit a great ball. Wojtek Breda, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 74thth minute of the game Anton Ackermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Hinterfindmichnicht's Guido Schamberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Finn Kreuels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Guido Schamberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim Pretzer's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guido Schamberg firmly grabbed it by the left post. BSC Jena 98's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
