Eugeniusz Tyski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pompiliu Roşculeţ in the 4th minute. Pompiliu Roşculeţ who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Eugeniusz Tyski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Volker Harm came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Hamburg City Vampires's Reinhard Borkmann. But to his dismay, Reinhard Borkmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Pompiliu Roşculeţ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugeniusz Tyski having to interfere. Eugeniusz Tyski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurențiu Cinteză, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Finn Bartels kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Hendrik Holletschek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Hamburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 27th minute, FC Hamburg's Pompiliu Roşculeţ dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After having played for 31 minutes, Pompiliu Roşculeţ managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hamburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pompiliu Roşculeţ was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Pompiliu Roşculeţ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Pompiliu Roşculeţ came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the FC Hamburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pompiliu Roşculeţ couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reinhard Borkmann to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FC Hamburg's Markus Heimrath got a free kick in the 51st minute. A collision led to Hamburg City Vampires getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Roy Lövskog hit a great ball. In the 57th minute Pompiliu Roşculeţ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugeniusz Tyski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Hamburg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frank Groth in the 58th minute. FC Hamburg's Frank Groth was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eugeniusz Tyski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The FC Hamburg fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when FC Hamburg's Pompiliu Roşculeţ looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eugeniusz Tyski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hendrik Holletschek, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Hamburg City Vampires's Eugeniusz Tyski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hendrik Holletschek in the 76th minute of play. Pompiliu Roşculeţ struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Eugeniusz Tyski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Hamburg. FC Hamburg's Ilkay Gündoğan was substituted for Frank Groth. After 84 minutes, Pompiliu Roşculeţ mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Hamburg and the Hamburg City Vampires players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pompiliu Roşculeţ hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match.
