FK Partizani Tirana's Zwi Gilgen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hinrik Schwarzfischer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thorsten Benscheider made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Jo Spaarmann sent off a good shot on target. After 23 played minutes FC Bayern Münschen got a freekick which was hit by Relf Waller. In the 30th minute, Ali Overkamp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Bayern Münschen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Erich Peuckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Hinrik Schwarzfischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Torsten Meis's late challenge caught a FK Partizani Tirana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torsten Meis helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FK Partizani Tirana booed when FC Bayern Münschen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Meis didn't get a good kick on the ball. FK Partizani Tirana's Thorsten Benscheider proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save FK Partizani Tirana from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Erich Peuckert managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK Partizani Tirana's supporters rose to their feet, but Erich Peuckert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hinrik Schwarzfischer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thorsten Benscheider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Overkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jo Spaarmann got free with Thorsten Benscheider in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ali Overkamp made a kick off. Thorsten Benscheider took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jo Spaarmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elmar Rührmund kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Hubert Simpson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th match minute, FK Partizani Tirana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hubert Simpson to maneuver through the defense. Thorsten Benscheider didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jo Spaarmann went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Spaarmann in the 70th minute of play forced FK Partizani Tirana's goalkeeper Thorsten Benscheider to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the game, FC Bayern Münschen's Jo Spaarmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thorsten Benscheider made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. When Guido Eberl fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FK Partizani Tirana's protests and gave Guido Eberl a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th minute, Guido Eberl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ali Overkamp came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the FC Bayern Münschen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ali Overkamp couldn't finish the play. Thorsten Benscheider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jo Spaarmann in the 83rd minute of play. Thorsten Benscheider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Spaarmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Godwin Klöckner hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Elmar Rührmund hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The FC Bayern Münschen support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
