Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bengt Persson to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, FC Schonebeck's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Appenzeller came free, but Lance Malliouris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Großberghofen's Rufus Bangert got control of the ball when Bengt Persson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Großberghofen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Paul Some was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Schonebeck's players had a chance to rest.
