The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Milan Maleňák struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Dan Růžek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vysoké Mýto Devils. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Milan Maleňák managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dan Růžek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Antonín Nádvorník came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Vysoké Mýto Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonín Nádvorník couldn't finish the play. Bartoloměj Kunc's late challenge caught a Vysoké Mýto Devils's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justin Milota was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. Václav Hlavatý had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Jaroslav Rulf's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 20 played minutes AC Valterice got a freekick which was hit by Jan Tokár. Miroslav Habart struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Dan Růžek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vysoké Mýto Devils. After 23 minutes, Miroslav Habart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vysoké Mýto Devils and the AC Valterice players grew even worse after the yellow card. Miroslav Habart kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 24 played minutes, AC Valterice's Jaroslav Rulf shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Václav Hlavatý came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AC Valterice reached it. The supporters of Vysoké Mýto Devils booed when AC Valterice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Libor Hanzel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th match minute, Vysoké Mýto Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislav Plíva to maneuver through the defense. Václav Hlavatý showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomáš Lysák in the 40th minute of the match. If Milan Maleňák had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ladislav Kárník hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Dan Růžek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dobroslav Wagner in the 84th minute. Dobroslav Wagner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Růžek having to interfere.
