The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, TJ Sokol Kněždub's goalkeeper Eliáš Janošík had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oliver Kazík. Sergej Dražan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Ferdinand Vobořil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antonín Řípa charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonín Řípa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, TJ Sokol Kněždub's Antonín Řípa got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute of the match, Svatopluk Míšek tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eliáš Janošík saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. FC Brno's Ferdinand Vobořil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergej Dražan in the 16th minute of play. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Brno's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Miroslav Kolda was slow to take the kick. During this time TJ Sokol Kněždub's players had a chance to rest. Miroslav Kolda made a great header on TJ Sokol Kněždub's corner, it was just that FC Brno's Ferdinand Vobořil managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice moves Oliver Kazík could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Eliáš Janošík however easily saved by the left post. Sergej Dražan struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Ferdinand Vobořil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TJ Sokol Kněždub. After 34 played minutes TJ Sokol Kněždub got a freekick which was hit by Ondřej Šlosar. If Sergej Dražan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Brno's goalkeeper Ferdinand Vobořil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sergej Dražan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ferdinand Vobořil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Klaus Šrubař fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Vobořil having to interfere. Antonín Řípa struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ferdinand Vobořil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TJ Sokol Kněždub. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Svatopluk Míšek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, FC Brno's goalkeeper Ferdinand Vobořil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergej Dražan. In the 53rd minute, Antonín Řípa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ferdinand Vobořil. The goal made the score 1-1. Antonín Řípa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darek Zborník in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliáš Janošík saved TJ Sokol Kněždub from getting behind. Dalimil Rýpar hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. If Sergej Dražan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. TJ Sokol Kněždub were furious when Ondřej Šlosar was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Ondřej Šlosar kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimír Silovský in the 81st minute of play forced TJ Sokol Kněždub's goalkeeper Eliáš Janošík to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonín Řípa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 84th playminute. Vladimír Silovský's late challenge caught a TJ Sokol Kněždub's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimír Silovský helped the player get up and apologised. 90 minutes into the game, one of FC Brno:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Ferdinand Vobořil, was totally fooled by TJ Sokol Kněždub's Miroslav Kolda, who 93 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
