The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Josef Horkel charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ's Petr Strouhal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ from getting a goal against them. 11 minutes into the match, Holcovice's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Stočes came free, but Vilém Vosáhlo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Holcovice's Josef Horkel got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute, Jiří Jemelka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 19 played minutes FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ got a freekick which was hit by Roman Stočes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karel Spath during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Holcovice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karel Spath to maneuver through the defense. After 23 minutes, Roman Stočes made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Holcovice's Vilém Vosáhlo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jiří Jemelka in the 29th minute of play forced Holcovice's goalkeeper Vilém Vosáhlo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ's Vilém Vosáhlo threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roman Stočes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ's Petr Strouhal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bronislav Janás in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Holcovice booed when FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matěj Pěnčík didn't get a good kick on the ball. The FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Holcovice's zone, Roman Stočes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vilém Vosáhlo came out of the goal and Roman Stočes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 74 played minutes FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ got a freekick which was hit by Roman Stočes. When FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ's Roman Stočes in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 81 played minutes Holcovice got a freekick which was hit by Čeněk Kmoníček. After 85 minutes FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Josef Horkel who took care of the corner kick. Josef Horkel made a great header on Holcovice's corner, it was just that FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ's Petr Strouhal managed to reach the ball for a save. Vilém Vosáhlo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roman Stočes's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Vilém Vosáhlo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jiří Jemelka in the 91st minute of play. Boris Vodička struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Vilém Vosáhlo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ. Vilém Vosáhlo stood somewhat misplaced when Roman Stočes came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 94 minute. The Holcovice fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC VIKTORIA PLZEŇ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
