The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kristián Záruba struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Evald Bašta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pavel Šrubař in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavel Šrubař got free with Evald Bašta in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Josef Kafka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 41 minutes into the game, Pavel Šrubař cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Evald Bašta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bořivoj Císař to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Bořivoj Císař reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jan Bodlák. The goal made the score 2-1. If Kristián Záruba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Willimau's zone, Kristián Záruba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Bodlák came out of the goal and Kristián Záruba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Willimau's Josef Kafka got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Josef Kafka came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Willimau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Kafka couldn't finish the play. Dalimil Snášel kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Willimau's Jan Bodlák proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Willimau from getting a goal against them. Evald Bašta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 97 minutes into the match, Igby´s United's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Kafka came free, but Evald Bašta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th match minute, Igby´s United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Přemek Křenek to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Willimau had won after a very even match.
