Mojmír Klouda hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. FC Karlovy Vary's Anton Filipi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alois Pernička in the 8th minute of play. David Hoffmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Petr Ondrušek in the 9th minute. If Martin Lindovský had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anton Filipi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alois Pernička in the 19th minute of play. After 19 played minutes FC Karlovy Vary got a freekick which was hit by Jiří Vimr. 20 minutes into the game, Martin Lindovský cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Anton Filipi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute, Alois Pernička left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bezdedovice fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 33 minutes, Jiří Vimr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Karlovy Vary and the Bezdedovice players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Karlovy Vary's Jiří Vimr got a free kick in the 33rd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alois Pernička couldn't finish the play. Alois Pernička fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Filipi having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
