Michal Chaloupka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaromír Kocur having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Nottingham Forest FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michal Chaloupka came free, but Jaromír Kocur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Michal Chaloupka sped through Nottingham Forest FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jaromír Kocur. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Chaloupka in the 28th minute of play forced Nottingham Forest FC's goalkeeper Jaromír Kocur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaromír Kocur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michal Chaloupka's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind SK Griffon Kladno's goalkeeper Stanislav Knotek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ladislav Zahrádka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaromír Kocur having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaromír Vysoudil kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stanislav Knotek. That made the score 1-1 in the 47 minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pavel Vymazal to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michal Chaloupka in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaromír Kocur saved Nottingham Forest FC from getting behind. Michal Chaloupka who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Jaromír Kocur when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ladislav Zahrádka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jaromír Vysoudil fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nottingham Forest FC's protests and gave Jaromír Vysoudil a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Jaromír Vysoudil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michal Chaloupkas short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Jaromír Kocur to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jaroslav Kozelský hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. A hard shot 63 in the game by Michal Chaloupka from a close distance when the talented Jaromír Kocur managed to make a qualified save. Nottingham Forest FC's players were relieved. Jaromír Kocur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michal Chaloupka in the 64th minute of the match. Samuel Dubec recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Pavel Vymazal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Stanislav Knotek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Michal Chaloupka managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Griffon Kladno's supporters rose to their feet, but Michal Chaloupka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaromír Kocur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nottingham Forest FC's goalkeeper Jaromír Kocur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Daniel Jiřička fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Griffon Kladno's protests and gave Daniel Jiřička a yellow card for diving instead. SK Griffon Kladno's Stanislav Knotek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Vymazal in the 81st minute of play. After having played for 85 minutes, Pavel Vymazal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nottingham Forest FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Vymazal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
