Hamburger SV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ruchadlo the free kick. In the 37th minute, Oldřich Balcar made a precise shot to the right of Marian Donát. Hamburger SV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 47th minute Oldřich Balcar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Donát saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jakub Štych stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marian Donát showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oldřich Balcar, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Ruchadlo were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Hamburger SV's much stronger midfield.
