Petr Lasák fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jiří Šámal having to interfere. If Kamil Houdek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Petr Lasák shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jiří Šámal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jiří Šámal made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Kamil Houdek sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kamil Houdek got free with Jiří Šámal in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Petr Lasák's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jiří Šámal was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. In the 39thth minute of the game Radek Žemlička who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Czech Tottenham Hotspur's Petr Šídlo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Radek Žemlička received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Petr Šídlo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute Milan Pivoňka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Šídlo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
