With a little luck, Lion Kings's Ivoš Petružálek got control of the ball when Cesare Staniscia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Radek Exner charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Radek Exner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice moves Zbyhněv Tylšar could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Ivoš Petružálek however easily saved by the left post. If Štěpán Vrkoč had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesare Staniscia to make the kick off. Ivoš Petružálek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michail Pelech, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Lion Kings's Branislav Pros got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lion Kings's goalkeeper Ivoš Petružálek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivoš Petružálek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michail Pelech in the 60th minute of play. Michail Pelech recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zbyhněv Tylšar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivoš Petružálek having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maroš Václav in the 81st minute of play forced Lion Kings's goalkeeper Ivoš Petružálek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesare Staniscia took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivoš Petružálek. Ivoš Petružálek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 89 minutes of play, Rudé hvezdy's Michail Pelech made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivoš Petružálek was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 93rd minute, Zbyhněv Tylšar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
