Rodersdorf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AS Roma the free kick. A collision led to Rodersdorf getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Yannic Stadler hit a great ball. The supporters of Rodersdorf booed when AS Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Yelmorini didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute Lothaire Cikaluk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benno Grossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Havel Süber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Benno Grossi made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Milan Kohler managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Milan Kohler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helmuth Trinkl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 16 played minutes AS Roma got a freekick which was hit by Milan Kohler. After a rather tough play, Rodersdorf's Lothaire Cikaluk got a free kick in the 19th minute. Milan Kohler might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helmuth Trinkl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Milan Kohler ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, AS Roma's Benno Grossi got control of the ball when Havel Süber tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gilbert Hedling was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 23 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the game, one of AS Roma:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Benno Grossi went to the wrong direction when Clement Bar was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Benno Grossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lothaire Cikaluk, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 31st match minute, Rodersdorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Weiss to maneuver through the defense. Benno Grossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Havel Süber in the 35th minute of play. Lars Weiss came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benno Grossi could save by the left post. Simon Hermann hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Lothaire Cikaluk kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benno Grossi. That made the score 1-0 in the 42 minute of play. Benno Grossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yannic Stadler, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute Lothaire Cikaluk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benno Grossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lothaire Cikaluk was the one to do the kick off. When Carmine Filippini fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AS Roma's protests and gave Carmine Filippini a yellow card for diving instead. 52 minutes into the game, one of AS Roma:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Clement Bar walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 59th minute Lothaire Cikaluk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benno Grossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AS Roma's Benno Grossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lothaire Cikaluk in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Weiss in the 72nd minute of play forced AS Roma's goalkeeper Benno Grossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Rodersdorf booed when AS Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Hermann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benno Grossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yannic Stadler in the 74th minute of play. If Simon Hermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Milan Kohler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milan Kohler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodersdorf's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
