Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alain Bianchini took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Manfred Aschwanden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 3 played minutes Pancho Pohland rounded Heiden SC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. A collision led to Heiden SC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Alain Bianchini hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Basel FC's Glenn Paterson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Garin Zellweger. Garin Zellweger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pancho Pohland in the 20th minute of play forced Heiden SC's goalkeeper Garin Zellweger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pancho Pohland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Garin Zellweger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alain Bianchini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jendrick Weniger having to interfere. Glenn Paterson hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Heiden SC's Louie Ebersbacher couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Basel FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alain Bianchini in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jendrick Weniger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manfred Aschwanden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Garin Zellweger made a huge save. In the 37th match minute, Basel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Collin Reinhard to maneuver through the defense. Alain Bianchini kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. A collision led to Heiden SC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Nero von Rohr hit a great ball. Pancho Pohland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garin Zellweger having to interfere. If Pancho Pohland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pancho Pohland to make the kick off. Glenn Paterson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garin Zellweger having to interfere. Manfred Aschwanden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garin Zellweger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pancho Pohland in the 59th minute of the match. Manfred Aschwanden blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Garin Zellweger having to make a save. After some careless play in the Heiden SC defense, Pancho Pohland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Garin Zellweger. The Heiden SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Garin Zellweger should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Basel FC booed when Heiden SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthias Dupasquier didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Aschwanden in the 69th minute of play forced Heiden SC's goalkeeper Garin Zellweger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heiden SC's Garin Zellweger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Aschwanden in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Basel FC's goalkeeper Jendrick Weniger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timothee Galliker. Jendrick Weniger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alain Bianchini in the 81st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timothee Galliker got free with Jendrick Weniger in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the game, Basel FC's Pancho Pohland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Garin Zellweger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After 87 played minutes Basel FC got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Paterson. 96 minutes into the match, Basel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alain Bianchini came free, but Jendrick Weniger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Heiden SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
