In the 8thth minute of the game Karl Egemann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birtschen HC's Alwin Bütler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abraham Witzig's late challenge caught a FC Asters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abraham Witzig helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Birtschen HC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Asters:s goal. FC Asters's Henrick Walter got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gregoire Theissen kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Birtschen HC's Alwin Bütler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Egemann in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Birtschen HC booed when FC Asters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Zurbuchen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Janos Trommler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severin Wyss in the 30th minute of the match. Alwin Bütler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Egemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erik Borner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alwin Bütler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrick Walter, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Birtschen HC's goalkeeper Alwin Bütler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The wind increased when Severin Wyss made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Birtschen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pippin Gärtner to maneuver through the defense.
