In the 13th minute, Rory Brandini fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Janos Trommler, passed just outside the right post. Henrick Walter might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Greg Schmidlin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henrick Walter ran back to his position shaking his head. Rory Brandini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Janos Trommler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herald Cavegn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Janos Trommler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 26 minutes, Erik Borner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Asters and the AS Breganzona players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, AS Breganzona's Greg Schmidlin got control of the ball when Henrick Walter tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of FC Asters were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant AS Breganzona side.
