Pius Küttel kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Alwin Bütler came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Schlieren's Matthew Pierucci. But to his dismay, Matthew Pierucci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Birtschen HC booed when Schlieren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federigo Wildhaber didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Severin Wyss made a precise shot to the right of Odysseus Hammer. Schlieren's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Schlieren's Alexandros Caron got a free kick in the 26th minute. When Matthew Pierucci came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Schlieren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew Pierucci couldn't finish the play. If Glenn De la Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Birtschen HC's Nikodemus Hunkeler got a free kick in the 40th minute. After 41 played minutes, Schlieren's Ischy Brand shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alwin Bütler came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Schlieren reached it. 43 minutes into the game, Schlieren's Matthew Pierucci nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alwin Bütler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 49 minutes into the game, Tomas Lucchesi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Birtschen HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schlieren the free kick. In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Schlieren. Ischy Brand stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alwin Bütler. 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severin Wyss made a kick off. Schlieren's attack was well implemented in the 58th minute, but when Matthew Pierucci was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Glenn De la Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schlieren's supporters rose to their feet, but Glenn De la Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alwin Bütler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matthew Pierucci's late challenge caught a Birtschen HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Pierucci helped the player get up and apologised. Matthew Pierucci kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Birtschen HC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 66 minutes, Schlieren's Ischy Brand got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alwin Bütler. Matthew Pierucci who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Alwin Bütler when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 78 minutes into the match, Birtschen HC's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn De la Cruz came free, but Alwin Bütler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alwin Bütler didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Schlieren's Glenn De la Cruz shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-5 in the ordered_time% minute. Alwin Bütler made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Matthew Pierucci sent off a good shot on target. Glenn De la Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alwin Bütler having to interfere. Alwin Bütler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matthew Pierucci in the 95th minute. Schlieren's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
