Leif Waltispühl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Greg Schmidlin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Guillaume Ritieni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AS Breganzona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birtschen HC the free kick. In the 8th minute, Guillaume Ritieni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the last second Alwin Bütler throw himself and got hold of the ball when Rory Brandini in the 9thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Rory Brandini struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Alwin Bütler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AS Breganzona. Severin Wyss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Schmidlin having to interfere. Herald Cavegn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Alwin Bütler made a huge save. Severin Wyss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 29 played minutes AS Breganzona got a freekick which was hit by Guillaume Ritieni. If Severin Wyss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 35th minute Severin Wyss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Schmidlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute Herald Cavegn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alwin Bütler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 played minutes AS Breganzona got a freekick which was hit by Pietro Jung. In the 67th minute, Severin Wyss fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Greg Schmidlin, passed just outside the right post. After 68 played minutes AS Breganzona got a freekick which was hit by Olivier Jerzinger. AS Breganzona's Rory Brandini got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severin Wyss in the 78th minute of play forced AS Breganzona's goalkeeper Greg Schmidlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alwin Bütler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rory Brandini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Herald Cavegn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AS Breganzona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
