Art Helfenstein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francois Strebel in the 3rd minute. 3 minutes into the game, Carl Feiss was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karakartal JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chlötzlibieger the free kick. Carl Feiss hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Artur Walter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emery Palorini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francois Strebel struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Art Helfenstein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karakartal JK. Chlötzlibieger's Falk Portmann got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Emery Palorini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chlötzlibieger's supporters rose to their feet, but Emery Palorini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Walter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Chlötzlibieger's zone, Francois Strebel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Art Helfenstein came out of the goal and Francois Strebel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Chlötzlibieger's goal looked a bit too open when Anders Barth came free, but Art Helfenstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Falk Portmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Walter having to interfere. Art Helfenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francois Strebel in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chlötzlibieger's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wigand Büchel was slow to take the kick. During this time Karakartal JK's players had a chance to rest. Karakartal JK's Wigand Büchel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Art Helfenstein in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Denis Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Art Helfenstein having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Francois Strebel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Art Helfenstein. Francois Strebel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Francois Strebel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Karakartal JK got a freekick which was hit by Denis Gerber. Artur Walter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falk Portmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. If Francois Strebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Chlötzlibieger's goalkeeper Art Helfenstein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 44 minutes, Denis Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karakartal JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Gerber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Art Helfenstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Denis Gerber's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Art Helfenstein read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denis Gerber during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th minute, Denis Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthias Zeiher kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Chlötzlibieger getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Salomon Frei hit a great ball. In the 62ndth minute of the game Francois Strebel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chlötzlibieger's Art Helfenstein was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Artur Walter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falk Portmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 70th match minute, Chlötzlibieger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helge Zuber to maneuver through the defense. Francois Strebel kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Francois Strebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Karakartal JK players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
