Grodei SC's Oscar Daecher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Bur in the 12th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nepomuk Sigrist during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Zinal's Nepomuk Sigrist got a free kick in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Grodei SC's zone, Christian Hess stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Daecher came out of the goal and Christian Hess tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Falk Manta charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Falk Manta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Grodei SC booed when Zinal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falk Manta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luca Bur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grodei SC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Zinal's much stronger midfield.
