FC Wattenwil's Noah Graf got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roy Thaler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juergen Scheuber having to make a save. 14 minutes into the match, SL Benfica-Bern's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Thaler came free, but Juergen Scheuber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 0-2 became the score in the 15th minute when Roy Thaler elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Wattenwil's zone, Herold Vonlanthen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joe Füglister came out of the goal and Herold Vonlanthen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, FC Wattenwil's Fidelis Donsante got a free kick in the 24th minute. After having played for 31 minutes, Roy Thaler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Wattenwil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Thaler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Noah Graf made a precise shot to the right of Juergen Scheuber. SL Benfica-Bern's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roy Thaler to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes, SL Benfica-Bern's Dominic Stähelin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joe Füglister came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SL Benfica-Bern reached it. Roy Thaler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juergen Scheuber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Juergen Scheuber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Thaler, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Joe Füglister took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benno Frischknecht, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Noah Graf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roy Thaler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SL Benfica-Bern fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Wattenwil were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
