Spectators: 7330 (Terracing: 5780, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 50) irie boys's Phil Ritter started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Burkhard Niederberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marino Diederich in the 5th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Patrizius Schläpfer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burkhard Niederberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to goloz getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Freeman Winiger hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, goloz's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Phil Ritter fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Phil Ritter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrizius Schläpfer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burkhard Niederberger having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marino Diederich in the 27th minute of play forced irie boys's goalkeeper Burkhard Niederberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in irie boys's zone, Marino Diederich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Burkhard Niederberger came out of the goal and Marino Diederich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Burkhard Niederberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrizius Schläpfer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Phil Ritter fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Kurt Eigensatz, passed just outside the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Piero Zarrella kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kurt Eigensatz. That made the score 1-0 in the 43 minute of play. After 45 minutes, Jago Zulle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the irie boys and the goloz players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, Jago Zulle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Burkhard Niederberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrizius Schläpfer in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Patrizius Schläpfer made the kick off in the second half. Burkhard Niederberger made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Marino Diederich sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind irie boys's goalkeeper Burkhard Niederberger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 74 minutes, Marino Diederich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. goloz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marino Diederich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrizius Schläpfer struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Burkhard Niederberger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for goloz. Günther Lisibach kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of goloz booed when irie boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jago Zulle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 minutes irie boys's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Placidus Cascarella who took care of the corner kick. goloz's Patrizius Schläpfer got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Pablo Engel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The irie boys fans cheered their team off the field, for while goloz had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
