Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arminio Morf kicked off to start the match. Arminio Morf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronan Kaestner having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bert Schneider got free with Ronan Kaestner in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronan Kaestner made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Bert Schneider sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Baumeister kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, FC BASEL's goal looked a bit too open when Arminio Morf came free, but Ronan Kaestner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bert Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arminio Morf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronan Kaestner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arminio Morf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 played minutes, 2.sc Tristan's Duong Walliser shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ronan Kaestner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 2.sc Tristan reached it. Julio Leuthard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxence Faure, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute, Arminio Morf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arminio Morf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ronan Kaestner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronan Kaestner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arminio Morf, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bert Schneider got free with Ronan Kaestner in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arminio Morf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lionel Frey to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Daniel Baumeister was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC BASEL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 2.sc Tristan the free kick. After a rather tough play, FC BASEL's Daniel Baumeister got a free kick in the 55th minute. 2.sc Tristan's Uli Hunn couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC BASEL. In the 59th minute Lionel Frey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Leuthard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute FC BASEL were awarded a corner. Henning Camenzind went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led FC BASEL's Henning Camenzind to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Leuthard despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Bert Schneider came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the 2.sc Tristan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bert Schneider couldn't finish the play. Arminio Morf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arminio Morf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronan Kaestner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Daniel Baumeister got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 70 played minutes FC BASEL got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Baumeister. After having played for 71 minutes, Bert Schneider managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 2.sc Tristan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bert Schneider was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bert Schneider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ronan Kaestner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 2.sc Tristan's Bert Schneider got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute Bert Schneider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronan Kaestner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC BASEL's zone, Arminio Morf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronan Kaestner came out of the goal and Arminio Morf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Michael Seiler hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute Arminio Morf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronan Kaestner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the 2.sc Tristan players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
