Garry Fah's late challenge caught a Dinamo Zagreb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garry Fah helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st match minute, Aveiro united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garry Fah to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Michele Zacchia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspard Keist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Michele Zacchia made the kick off in the second half. Sten Cicchetti didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Dinamo Zagreb's Timo Heggli shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Sten Cicchetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Berg in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Gianni Theiler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Timo Heggli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timo Heggli might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sten Cicchetti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Timo Heggli ran back to his position shaking his head.
