Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Schmitten's Jurij Tomasi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC Florian's Ulf Müggler got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cäsar Hottiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurij Tomasi in the 5th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Schmitten's Hans Campa got a free kick in the 6th minute. Donald Brousse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulf Müggler's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Cäsar Hottiger acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 11th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luca Sankt. Bastian De Rossi hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 20 minutes FC Florian's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ralf Neuenschwander who took care of the corner kick. Jurij Tomasi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cäsar Hottiger came out and tried to block the shot, but Jurij Tomasi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. Donald Brousse didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beat Murray went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Donald Brousse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beat Murray in the 33rd minute of play. Cäsar Hottiger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurij Tomasi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the game, one of Schmitten:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 42 minutes of play Schmitten's Hans Campa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Schmitten getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Hans Campa hit a great ball. Beat Murray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Brousse having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beat Murray made a kick off. Andy Winkler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Ulf Müggler got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 64th minute, Andy Winkler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cäsar Hottiger was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When Andy Winkler came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Schmitten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Winkler couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute, Andy Winkler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cäsar Hottiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michele Meier in the 72nd minute of the match. Eamon Zimmermann hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schmitten's goalkeeper Donald Brousse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donald Brousse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beat Murray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Andy Winkler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cäsar Hottiger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Winkler, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Jurij Tomasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jurij Tomasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ben Brand hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Andy Winkler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Cäsar Hottiger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Schmitten walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
