Earnest Balmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerd Zumbrunnen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graham Schaer in the 7th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Graham Schaer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phoenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Graham Schaer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerd Zumbrunnen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elian Pfister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Elian Pfister managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phoenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Elian Pfister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerd Zumbrunnen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerd Zumbrunnen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graham Schaer in the 16th minute of the match. If Graham Schaer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Steiner kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. When Elian Pfister came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elian Pfister couldn't finish the play. In the 34thth minute of the game Graham Schaer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rafz's Gerd Zumbrunnen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerd Zumbrunnen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graham Schaer in the 37th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Phoenix's Graham Schaer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gerd Zumbrunnen. That made the score 1-0 after 39 minutes of play. Earnest Balmer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Cadotsch in the 47th minute of the match.
After 57th play minutes Erik Cadotsch shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Earnest Balmer and just under the crossbar into goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elian Pfister in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerd Zumbrunnen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerd Zumbrunnen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elian Pfister, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Phoenix's Graham Schaer got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 played minutes Rafz got a freekick which was hit by Mark Steiner. In the 82nd minute, Olivier Schürch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Phoenix getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Gaston Traugott hit a great ball. Elian Pfister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerd Zumbrunnen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elian Pfister, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 played minutes Rafz got a freekick which was hit by Mark Steiner. Phoenix were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Rafz to leave the ground with a draw.
