Graham Schaer started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Phoenix's Graham Schaer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 13thth minute of the game Elian Pfister who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dielsdorf AC's Joao Apicella was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeff Olivieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Earnest Balmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Jeff Olivieri could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Earnest Balmer however easily saved by the left post. Elian Pfister took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joao Apicella. Joao Apicella dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Elian Pfister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elian Pfister in the 32nd minute of play forced Dielsdorf AC's goalkeeper Joao Apicella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeff Olivieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Earnest Balmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jeff Olivieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Gaston Traugott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeff Olivieri struck a weak shot in the 50th minute. Earnest Balmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dielsdorf AC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claude Schwander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Dielsdorf AC defense, Elian Pfister kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joao Apicella. The Dielsdorf AC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joao Apicella should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Dielsdorf AC's zone, Elian Pfister stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joao Apicella came out of the goal and Elian Pfister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elian Pfister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 64th match minute, Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Ochsner to maneuver through the defense. Jeff Olivieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Earnest Balmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Graham Schaer succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. When Elian Pfister came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elian Pfister couldn't finish the play. Claude Schwander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dielsdorf AC's Claude Schwander got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claude Schwander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Earnest Balmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Graham Schaer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joao Apicella having to interfere. The Dielsdorf AC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Phoenix's performance. The match ended with a win for Phoenix.
