When Ermanno Diederich fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Andwil's protests and gave Ermanno Diederich a yellow card for diving instead. Ermanno Diederich hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldo Wollstadt in the 7th minute of play forced Andwil's goalkeeper Theo Loser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the game, 1. FC Vatikan's John Schenker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Theo Loser made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, 1. FC Vatikan's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Meili came free, but Leonello Henseler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in 1. FC Vatikan's zone, Giuliano Estermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonello Henseler came out of the goal and Giuliano Estermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Andwil's goalkeeper Theo Loser, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 19th minute John Schenker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theo Loser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Schenker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonello Henseler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giuliano Estermann in the 26th minute. If Baldo Wollstadt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Andwil's goal looked a bit too open when John Schenker came free, but Theo Loser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Schenker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andwil's Theo Loser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Schenker in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match Ermanno Diederich sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonello Henseler skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Schenker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Baldo Wollstadt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theo Loser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. The attack was good, but when John Schenker in the 53rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Mathias Vizioli charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Vizioli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mathias Vizioli hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Baldo Wollstadt was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. 1. FC Vatikan's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Arnaud Loiacono came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the 1. FC Vatikan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaud Loiacono couldn't finish the play. Andwil's Theo Loser proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Andwil from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baldo Wollstadt got free with Theo Loser in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, Andwil's goalkeeper Theo Loser had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Schenker. 69 minutes into the game, 1. In the 85th minute, Andwil's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arnaud Loiacono fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
