Pfaffensprung's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joao Kappel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joe Sperisen charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joe Sperisen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joe Sperisen hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Patrick Bregenzer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, John Schenker managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1. FC Vatikan's supporters rose to their feet, but John Schenker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Huber Grubenmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Patrick Bregenzer kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Joe Sperisen was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. A collision led to Pfaffensprung getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Joe Sperisen hit a great ball. If John Schenker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 74 minutes into the match, John Schenker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Huber Grubenmann. Pfaffensprung's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Schenker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Pier Giger kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. John Schenker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Huber Grubenmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Baldo Wollstadt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Huber Grubenmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Huber Grubenmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldo Wollstadt in the 96th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. 1. FC Vatikan had won after a very even match.
