The ball had pretty good speed, but Lionel Emennegger firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 6 played minutes Keith Caron rounded Fc Olten's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Dominik Martinelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Lionel Emennegger made a huge save. Eamon Zufferey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludovic Wicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Fc Olten's Lionel Emennegger got control of the ball when Dominik Martinelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ludovic Wicki struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Eamon Zufferey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Olten. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanislaw Vicente got free with Lionel Emennegger in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Fc Olten's Lionel Emennegger got control of the ball when Diego Spillmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Ludovic Wicki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eamon Zufferey. Faoug HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ludovic Wicki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Fc Olten's Lionel Emennegger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith Caron in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fc Olten's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kevin Bourdette was slow to take the kick. During this time Faoug HC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Kevin Bourdette almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fc Olten's Lionel Emennegger did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ludovic Wicki in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eamon Zufferey saved Faoug HC from getting behind. Howie Junker kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Ludovic Wicki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Eamon Zufferey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Howie Junker's late challenge caught a Fc Olten's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Howie Junker helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Faoug HC got a freekick which was hit by Howie Junker. After 48 played minutes Fc Olten got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Lengen. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keith Caron was the one to do the kick off. Ludovic Wicki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eamon Zufferey having to interfere. Stanislaw Vicente hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Faoug HC's goalkeeper Eamon Zufferey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ludovic Wicki. After 61 minutes of play, Faoug HC's Stanislaw Vicente made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lionel Emennegger was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 65 played minutes Faoug HC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Spillmann. In the 68th minute, Stanislaw Vicente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Martinelli in the 72nd minute of play forced Fc Olten's goalkeeper Lionel Emennegger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Howard Howald got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eamon Zufferey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alban Striner, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 86 minutes into the match, Dominik Martinelli notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Fc Olten's Lionel Emennegger. Lionel Emennegger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 93 minutes into the match, Fc Olten's goal looked a bit too open when Keith Caron came free, but Lionel Emennegger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Faoug HC's zone, Florus Hunkeler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eamon Zufferey came out of the goal and Florus Hunkeler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pinkus Pfändler's late challenge caught a Faoug HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pinkus Pfändler helped the player get up and apologised. The Faoug HC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
