The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joachim Malatesta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marius Giorgi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Holger Bayer in the 18th minute of the match. Louis Schroeder hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Holger Bayer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Marius Giorgi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Claus Mändli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Holger Bayer was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Novazzano SC's Marius Giorgi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zoltan Simon in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Malatesta in the 29th minute of play forced Novazzano SC's goalkeeper Marius Giorgi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marius Giorgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Bayer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, FC Delay Sport's goal looked a bit too open when Claus Mändli came free, but Raphael Busel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Delay Sport's Holger Bayer got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 42nd minute Dominikus Bosshard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Giorgi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joachim Malatesta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Novazzano SC's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim Malatesta came free, but Marius Giorgi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Paco Zihlmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivan Kaiser stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zoltan Simon in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marius Giorgi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 52 played minutes Novazzano SC got a freekick which was hit by Claus Mändli. After a defensive mix-up in Novazzano SC's zone, Holger Bayer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Giorgi came out of the goal and Holger Bayer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Novazzano SC's Marius Giorgi got control of the ball when Joachim Malatesta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marius Giorgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paco Zihlmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raphael Busel came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Novazzano SC's Matt Kohler. But to his dismay, Matt Kohler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Holger Bayer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Giorgi having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joachim Malatesta got free with Marius Giorgi in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Novazzano SC booed when FC Delay Sport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Wagner didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, FC Delay Sport's goal looked a bit too open when Josue Baum came free, but Raphael Busel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Paco Zihlmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Fidelis Netzer managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Delay Sport's supporters rose to their feet, but Fidelis Netzer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marius Giorgi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Novazzano SC defense, Joachim Malatesta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marius Giorgi. The Novazzano SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marius Giorgi should have stopped the shot. FC Delay Sport's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
