The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the match, Grindelfeld's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Aberle came free, but Sidney Lustenberger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Melliger hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Peter Filli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kappelen SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Filli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kappelen SC's Giona Schwarz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leander Bollier in the 18th minute of play. When Kappelen SC's Peter Filli in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grindelfeld's goalie prevented a goal. Diego Aberle charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Aberle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kappelen SC's Diego Aberle got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Diego Aberle who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Sidney Lustenberger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Peter Filli took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Sidney Lustenberger to make any attempt to save it. Diego Aberle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Grindelfeld booed when Kappelen SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeus Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Aberle in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sidney Lustenberger, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Diego Aberle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sidney Lustenberger was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Peter Filli capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Peter Filli really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After 45 played minutes Grindelfeld got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Melliger.

The wind increased when Peter Filli made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Filli in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sidney Lustenberger saved Grindelfeld from getting behind. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grindelfeld's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bernd Schurter was slow to take the kick. During this time Kappelen SC's players had a chance to rest. If Peter Filli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeus Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Diego Aberle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kappelen SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Aberle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidney Lustenberger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sidney Lustenberger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Aberle's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Grindelfeld's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Filli came free, but Sidney Lustenberger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Kappelen SC's goalkeeper Giona Schwarz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 76 minutes, Quirino Burri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grindelfeld and the Kappelen SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sidney Lustenberger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Aberle went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 85th minute Peter Filli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Lustenberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Aberle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Peter Filli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sidney Lustenberger was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. If Peter Filli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Quirino Burri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kappelen SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Grindelfeld had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
