Grindelfeld's Sidney Lustenberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Cristallini in the 14th minute of play. Ronan Bracchi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th play minute Gordon Kluge came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matteo Gottschalk. 1-2. A nice corner shot did that Rudi Stegmeier got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Matteo Gottschalk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 39 minutes of play, Grindelfeld's Gordon Kluge made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matteo Gottschalk was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardo Fräfel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Theo Cristallini to strike the kick off in the second half. Matteo Gottschalk came out of the goal and Ricardo Fräfel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grindelfeld's Clas Kempf suffered a fractured collar bone after 68 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 68 minutes into the game, Justin Wolfer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Silver Tegna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grindelfeld the free kick. After a rather tough play, Silver Tegna's Justin Wolfer got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Theo Cristallini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute.
