The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Henrick Bar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the match, Sihlbrücke SC's goal looked a bit too open when Henrick Bar came free, but Stefan Glockner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joe Walliser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Glockner having to interfere. Daniele Durr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Forrest Hertzog tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sihlbrücke SC's Ricardo Ambauen got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Ems's Forrest Hertzog got control of the ball when Ricardo Ambauen tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ems booed when Sihlbrücke SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Klug didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 33 played minutes Ems got a freekick which was hit by Mirko Stöckli. Henrick Bar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrick Bar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Glockner having to interfere.

In the 51st minute Daniele Durr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Forrest Hertzog saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Ambauen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Forrest Hertzog tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nick Wirz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ems's Henrick Bar got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Ems's Henrick Bar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stefan Glockner. Stefan Glockner yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ems's zone, Ricardo Ambauen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Forrest Hertzog came out of the goal and Ricardo Ambauen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the match, Ems's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Ambauen came free, but Forrest Hertzog reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrick Bar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, Sihlbrücke SC's goal looked a bit too open when Henrick Bar came free, but Stefan Glockner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrick Bar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joe Walliser got free with Stefan Glockner in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Joe Walliser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrick Bar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Stefan Glockner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lambert Banda hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The Ems supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ems would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
