After a defensive mix-up in Waltenschwil's zone, Gregor Wallimann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefan Gonzales came out of the goal and Gregor Wallimann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Alessio Melliger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stefan Gonzales was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Bumbach's goal looked a bit too open when Gunter Vonrotz came free, but Garry Böll reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gunter Vonrotz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garry Böll having to interfere. Alessio Melliger struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Stefan Gonzales didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bumbach. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregor Wallimann was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Waltenschwil's goalkeeper Stefan Gonzales, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alessio Melliger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefan Gonzales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Gunter Vonrotz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Garry Böll tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waltenschwil's Stefan Gonzales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregor Wallimann in the 68th minute of play. Leroy Galliker hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Alessio Melliger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Gonzales having to interfere. Stefan Gonzales stood somewhat misplaced when Alessio Melliger came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 81 minute. With a little luck, Waltenschwil's Stefan Gonzales got control of the ball when Alessio Melliger tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 played minutes Bumbach got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Amhof. When Leroy Galliker fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waltenschwil's protests and gave Leroy Galliker a yellow card for diving instead. Leroy Galliker kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
